Mavericks Tales is a comprehensive series of early reader books designed to guide children from their very first visual connections all the way to confident, independent reading.
Built on the proven principles of the Science of Reading, our books pair visual imprinting, methodical phonics instruction, and high frequency sight words with breathtaking, high fidelity illustrations. Our ecosystem is built on a clear, three-step progression:
Step 1: Seek and Find Puzzle Books (Preparation)
Before a child can decode words, they must learn to read images. These visually immersive puzzle books train essential visual imprinting, focus, and tracking, preparing the brain for the mechanics of reading.
Step 2: Sight and Sound Decodable Phonics (Decoding)
This is where the magic of true reading begins. These books strictly utilize decodable CVC (Consonant Vowel Consonant) words, empowering kids to rely entirely on sounding out methods without the frustration.
Step 3: Sight Words Adventure Books (Fluency)
Once decoding clicks, we introduce the first 100 Fry Sight Words. These full sentence, structured stories seamlessly weave common and difficult sight words, giving early readers the tools they need to achieve real world reading fluency.
